Description
This is the view of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador from the harbor. The brightly colored Victorian row houses are called "Jellybean Houses" or "Jelly Bean Row". Some people say the bright colors were used to counteract the foggy gray weather which is common in St. Johns. Some believe that the houses used to be painted with the leftover paint from the fishing boats. Whatever the reason, these "jellybeans" make the city more colorful and unique, and they are something you can't miss if you are visiting St. John's.

Lovely imagery, and I love the variety of splashing colors and if you did a "belly flop" in the water, you could refer to it as a "Jelly Belly"! LOL Love the colors! Just amazing! Sorry for the humor, but the devil made me do it! fave and vote

How neat and what a wonderful concept. LOVE the colorful *jellybean* houses. How could anyone be depressed in St. John's/Labrador with all that cheerful color? Nice shot. v38/f
